Connections between Roman Catholic Modernism and the artistic culture of the fin de siècle have received little attention from scholars, as compared to the prominence accorded intellectual, social, and political issues. Felix Klein is one of a handful of those who worked for intellectual renewal who closely followed developments in literature and music, interpreting those developments in a way that favored an agenda of reconciling Catholicism with modernity. This book represents an historical-theoretical overview of one of the central issues of the contemporary philosophy of mind: the so-called mind-body problem. The treatment is guided by two aims: to critically review "the principal theories that concern the mental and its science"; and "to elaborate a particular interpretation of the mental and of the MBP". The first aim is guided by the second. In his review the author does not seek to present a parade of theories and theorists so much (...) as the logic which has, from his perspective, given a certain direction to the debate.
